21st Century Real Life Fairytale!

Sound the trumpets, release the fireworks, lace up your dancing shoes and prepare yourself as we have made it to the final #JustWedWednesday couple of 2022 and this is a showstopper! A real life 21st century fairytale!

It’s sparkly season! We are here for it all, the glitz, the glamour, the gorgeousness and we couldn't think of a better time to share this gem of a lady Carla and her prince charming Donagh’s beautiful Castle wedding.

It's a classic tale of boy meets girl over a pair of ‘nobull’ crossfit trainers with a hint of magic from her Fairy Godmothers (yes us :)) providing the wedding dress of dreams! A ball of a wedding at Bellingham Castle leading to their Happily Ever After!

T’is the season to be sparkly! The proposal was very like their relationship, no fuss and go with the flow! ‘Donagh asked me to be his wife and we took the Monday off to pick the rock - no Monday Blues that day!’

Family and friends mean everything to this couple so it was inevitable that their wedding would be centered around family, Carla tells us’ I just wanted to have my friends & family together in good health, My vibe was good food, close family, friends & a big party. Donagh & I agreed on what was important to us and that was people and the time with them’

It doesn't get much more special and romantic than a wedding in an Irish Castle! It is always going to be exciting and a little bit magical when you choose Bellingham Castle in County Louth! Carla said ‘It’s just the most wonderful castle & staff I have ever experienced! A day that came together so effortlessly, we stumbled across the venue & said yes to the date (which was also my goddaughters 9th birthday) so I knew it would be special’.

Carla stunned in sequins, she chose our sparkle encrusted Lusan Mandongus gown and twinkled from head to toe and she has the sparkling personality to match it! If you believe in fate this dress was destined to be worn by Carla as it was a one-off.  We matched the detailing on the gown with the most perfect customised veil to complete the look.  Carla tells us ‘When my cousin arrived home from Australia we went shopping again, went straight back to Marie Me. I went in search of the sparkly dress from a year previous. Hanging in the discontinued rail waiting for me to pick..tried on & said yes. Was meant to be. Comfort to be was so important & buying for the shape I was. Not enjoying the build up because of a dress or diet was never on my agenda. It fitted like a glove (so comfy I slept in it)!”

Memorable moment/ Highlight of your day

“All of it was such fun & I had no nerves but sitting down to dessert after hearing everyone speak so kindly of Donagh and I was a lovely moment. I was very proud of his speech. That's the first time any emotion really hit me.

Also driving into our venue with the roof down on the car in November. Total bliss”

Top tip / word of advice for other couples planning their wedding day

I picked suppliers based on personality, gave them my trust and let all else run its course. Don't spend money you don't have to impress other people but don't ask suppliers to do their work at your price. Respect everyone that helps out in your day & you will get much more from everyone.
